I absolutely had a blast speaking to 1st-year medical students at Mt. Sinai Hospital this week. I was on a panel with a Chaplain and other psychology professionals. I was asked questions about my journey through life, reactions to my Schizophrenia and how I started Schizophrenic.NYC and advocacy. One student approached me after the panel and spoke to me about her mother who has Schizophrenia. I’m glad that my openness about having a mental illness makes people feel comfortable enough to speak about their personal experiences with me. This is why I am a Mental Health Advocate. Thank you so much, Mt. Sinai
